| Chib inspects facilities at Astroturf stadium | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 1: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, RS Chib today inspected facilities at the J&K State Sports Council's KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium.
Chib went around the premises of the Stadium and inspected various arrangements made by the J&K State Sports Council for holding 5-day 19th CRPF Inter Sector Hockey tournament scheduled to start from August 2.
The 19th Central Reserve Police Force Inter Sector Hockey tournament has been organized by Group Centre CRPF, Bantalab in which 14 teams drawn from various CRPF Sectors will participate in the event.
Minister was apprised about the arrangements made by the Group Centre, CRPF Bantalab for the successful functioning of the tournament. The Minister assured the CRPF of extending all facilities for the successful completion of the grand tournament. He said that such tournaments help in promoting the sports activities in the State.
Minister went around the Stadium and directed the management to maintain well the dressing room, bathroom and outside field and maintain the main field as per the laid down standards.
Chib said that Jammu and Kashmir has the distinction of having one of the best Astroturf Hockey Stadiums in the country and stressed the need for its proper maintenance and regular up-gradation of the infrastructure. He said that the proposal for construction of Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Srinagar was under the active consideration of the government
