| Political package for JK more dangerous: Mankotia | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 3:Reacting to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statement demanding political package instead of economic package for J&K, Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) state president and MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia said, “Political package for J&K will prove to be more dangerous.”
Talking to media persons here today, Mankotia said, “Instead of political package for Jammu and Kashmir, there is immediate need of dismissal of present state government to end up Kashmir turmoil”.
“Kashmiri people want Azadi from present government of National Conference and Congress which failed to govern and control the situation in Kashmir”, Mankotia said while referring that he was talked to some of the leaders and people of Kashmir region.
He suspected that some mischievous elements eyed to bring the heat of Kashmir in some parts of Jammu region. “Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh should immediately dismiss the government before Jammu feels the heat of Kashmir protests and before the things gone out of proportion in the state”, Mankotia urged.
He also raised apprehensions about the silence adopted by biggest opposition party in Centre BJP and Congress in Centre. He accused Congress of working as C-team here in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, he informed that JKNPP recently toured Doda and Kishtwar district and met with number of deputations and listened to their problems. He accused the State Government of totally neglecting SPOs and VDCs.
He alleged that Government used SPOs/VDCs as a tool during peak militancy in the state but now totally brushed aside them. He demanded that SPOs should be made permanent constables in Police and special recruitment to be conducted for members of VDCs to engage them as SPOs.
