Police today arrested a person, who was issuing/false maternity cards among the villagers in the tehsil.
As per reports block medical officer, Katra on getting information about the distribution of maternity cards among the villagers besides charging money for inspections etc informed the police about it. He told police that office has not received any information in this regard from health department.
On getting information SHO, Katra S.S Sambyal along with police team, raided number of villages and arrested some persons in this connection. During their interrogation they told, one Babu Nayyar S/o C.S. Nayyar resident of Choora-Noor Kerala have engaged them on this job. Police arrested Babu Nayyar, and recovered 305 cards, rubber stamps of various doctors etc from his possession.
During interrogation Nayyar disclosed that earlier he used to work at Jai Ambay Memorial Charitable Trust Mumbai. After resigning from trust, he started practicing here.
As per source, Nayyar was not a doctor, the medicine etc. distributed by him with prove fatal. Police have registered the case and is investigating the matter.
