Speaking at the birth anniversary function of Maharaja Gulab Singh at Shree Raghunath Ji temple here yesterday, Diwakar said that Maharaja Gulab Singh started Sadavarats for widows and provided financial help for marriages of their daughters. For the purpose, be established a trust. “Maharaja Sahib was a great benevolent and patriotic ruler who loved his subjects the most, he added Diwakar Singh said that befitting tribes to this great Maharaja would be to take pledge for accomplishing the tasks of making the state, a model state for the world. The function was organized by Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust to commemorate Maharaja Gulab Singh and celebrated his birth anniversary. Dr. Japuran Dass and several other speakers paid floral tributes to Maharaja Gulab Singh and described him a foresighted and kind –hearted king of the state. Special puja and Havana were performed for peace and progress of the Rajvansh and people of the state. The entire building of the Dharmarth Trust was decorated and illuminated to match the occasion. Portrait of Maharaja Gulab Singh was properly garlanded. Later, the Prasad was distributed among the devotees.
