Even after 8 months, Chinore yet to get tube-well | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 5: On one hand thousand of people residing in Janipur area and its beyond are reeling under acute shortage of potable water because of accumulation of silt in the Sheetli Power lifting station and on the other hand, PHE authorities are yet to make tubewell functional at Chinore area. Locals of the area complained that pipes are already laid in the area, but these are not made functional and the reason best known to the concerned authorities. The duck tank of the tube well was constructed almost eight months ago by Economic and Reconstruction Agency (ERA) for providing water to the residents of the area. Public Health Department (PHE) has totally failed to provide water supply in Kandi areas. There are many areas in Jammu region where the supply of water is not well and this is because of lack of interest of concerned agencies. Councilor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) of ward number 62 Subash Bhagat stated that if completed the people of the area would be largely benefited as at present supply is coming from large distance. He mentioned the poor quality of water being supplied to the people from Tawi in the rainy season. However, no one from the PHE department could be contacted for their comments.
