| 3 kids die in Nowshera landslide | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, Aug 6: Incessant rainfall for the last more than 30 hours in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch has claimed lives of three kids near LoC when a house was collapsed due to landslides.
As per sources, three kids were killed and one injured when a house came under the landslide. The incident took place in Makri area near Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district. The deceased children have been identified as Sumit Kumar, 4, son of Pritim Dass and his sister Roobi Devi, 10 and Renu Devi daughter of Babu Ram. Meanwhile, Sonika Devi, another daughter of Pritim Dass is battling life in the Sub District Hospital Nowshera.
District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja has confirmed the death of three kids in LoC area of Rajouri. He said that he personally visited the spot and distributed ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh to next kin of the deceased and Rs 5000 to injured. He said that the incident took place following a house came under the landslide and collapsed. |
