| CJM Granted bail to Ex-SSP involved in Eve-teasing case | | |
Jammu, October, 24:- Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu Mr. Sanjay Dhar today granted interim bail to Ch Chirag Din Former SSP allegedly involved in much publicized 294 RPC (Eve-Teasing) on furnishing bail bond and surety bond in the amount of Rs 10,000 each.
Former SSP Ch Chirag Din today surrendered himself before the court and submitted bail application for grant of bail in FIR NO 65/2006 of P/S Channi Himmat Jammu u/s 294 RPC. It is alleged that former SSP was booked on the said charges leveled by a woman police constable. The police registered the case against Ch Chirag Din on the direction of Human Rights Commission on the complaint of the alleged victim. According to the police case Human Rights Commission issued this direction to the police to register a formal case and initiate probe. It is worthwhile mention here the complainant had complaint to her senior officers in 2000 but no action has been taken against SSP Chirag Din, thereafter she approached the Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Commission directed police to register case.
CJM while granting interim bail to Ch Chirag Din in a much publicized case directed Incharge P/S Channi-Himmat not to arrest Ch Chirag Din provided he is not involved in any other offence and also directed the accused to cooperate with the investigating agency and not to temper with the prosecution witnesses. Accused is further directed to appear before the concerned IO on October 26, 2006 at 10:00 AM and thereafter as and when required, court ordered. |
