Amaranth yatra halted on Jammu-Srinagar NH | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 11 : A batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra that left from the base camp here was halted on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Batote in Ramban district, official sources said. Due to bad weather, the yatra was not allowed to proceed and was halted near village Kafri,'' the sources told However, a batch of 571 pilgrims this morning left for the revered cave shrine located in South Himalayas. The batch comprising 253 men, 135 women, three children and 180 sadhus, left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 0800 hrs in a convoy of 14 vehicles, including 11 SRTC buses, two private vehicles and one LMV, they added.
Meanwhile, as many as 1180 yatries today left for Holy Amarnath Ji Cave from Pahalgam –Nun Wan and Baltal-Sonamarg routes for Darshan. Out of these Yatries, 780 are male, 243 female, 36 children and 121 are Sadhus. So far, 4, 42,824 Yatries had darshan of the Shiv Lingam at the Holy Amarnath Ji Cave.
