Attempt to set up library at Home for Handicapped | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 11: A librarian in association with Kendriya Vidyala (KV) School Sunjwan has made an attempt to set up a library at JRC-run Home for Handicapped at Udaywala, near here. Besides a day-long exhibition of rare books, text books were donated to the Home with an aim to set up a full-fledged library. “The exhibition, which was organised in connection with forthcoming Independence Day, is a beginning to establish a library for the children staying at Home for Handicapped. Besides making these poor children aware of benefits of book reading, we have also donated text books to the Home,”Urmilla Bambroo, who is a Librarian at KV Sunjwan and has taken the initiative, told SAN. The exhibition was inaugurated by vice-president of the Home, Prof R L Sharma, who was chief guest on the occasion. To give it a colourful show and also to entertain the children at Home, students of KV Sunjwan presented various cultural programme. Students also took part in art activities, yoga, health tips and story telling. In on the spot drawing competition, Jyoti and Master Rohit of JRC Home were declared first and second respectively. Late, vote of thanks was presented by TGT Sanskrit, KV Sunjwan, V P Sharma.
