CRPF deployed at sensitive places ahead of Independence Day

Jammu, Aug 11: In view of the heightened threat perception in the run up to the Independence day celebrations elaborate security arrangements would be in place to prevent any possible militant strike aimed at disrupting the public gatherings.
Inspector General Jammu range CRPF AS Sidhu on Wednesday told media persons at Bantalab Group centre headquarters that CRPF jawans have been put on high alert across communally sensitive places, vulnerable religious places and other areas which could be on the hit list of militants to prevent any militant strike".
The CRPF officer was interacting with the media persons after the passing out parade of the CRPF jawans.
A total number of 278 jawans passed out of the training centre after completing their vigorous training in weapons handling, jungle warfare, detection and identification of explosive devices and special capsule course on human rights.
Sharing his assessment of the security situation the CRPF office said the security grid has been beefed up in and around venue of the Independence day celebrations in Jammu to ensure fool proof security.
"As per the instructions of the senior officers random search operations are currently on and patrolling is underway across the city to maintain a tight vigil and keep jawans in a state of high alert".
When asked whether there is any specific input or threat to any particular place the senior CRPF officer declined to share the security detials but hastened to add that at all such places where every security is needed and vigil is required it is being done to avert any strike. (kip)
