| Shabir condemns Thannamandi firing incident | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Aug 11:Minister of State for Power, Forest and CA&PD, Shabir Ahmad Khan has expressed shock and grief over the demise of a lady and injuries to several others in a firing incident at Thannamandi in Rajouri district.
While condemning the incident, the Minister called upon the concerned authorities for taking action against culprits adding that strict vigil must be taken for the security of the people in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
Khan has also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and early recovery of the injured. He asked the authorities to provide better medical facilities to the injured persons.
Meanwhile, the Minister asked the Deputy Commissioners of Poonch and Rajouri to ensure fool proof security arrangements for forthcoming Budha Amarnath Yatra. He also asked district administration for making adequate arrangements of essential commodities, transport, power supply, water etc in all main points of the yatra enroute to the cave for the visiting devotees.
