Release 6th pay commission arrears: JKNTUF

JAMMU, Aug 11:J&K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) has urged upon the state government to announce the Road map for payment of arrears of 6th Pay commission as agreed by the Cabinet Sub Committee headed by Abdul Rahim Rather Finance Minister during negotiations held at Srinagar on May 15 last.
While addressing a joint press conference here today, Mohammed Gafoor Dar State president along with the other leaders of the Front has appealed to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to full-fill the promise made with the leadership of employees on May 15 regarding payment of arrears of 6th Pay Commission form 2006 to 2009, regularization of Daily rated/Casual workings engaged after 1994, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years. Orders for change of designation of helpers in Social Forestry and Mechanical irrigation be issued by the concerned department.
Dar said that three months time fixed by the government for announcement of payment of arrears has been completed and Prime Minister of India has also indicated during his recent visit to the State that the sufficient funds will be provided for the payment of the arrears. Therefore un-necessarily delay for announcement of Road map for payment of arrears will further complicate the situation.

J&K National Trade Union Front has also expressed great shock on the loss of Human lives during recent cloud bursts and heavy rains in Leh and Kargil and expressed full sympathies with the affected families and also demanded immediate relief and rescue operations for the concerned form the Govt.
