| 5 day police remand for JE | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 12: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu AK Koul today granted five days custodial interrogation of Junior Engineer Khursheed Ahmad who was caught red-handed by VOJ team while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 4500/- from complainant Ghulam Ahmed Contractor for releasing final payment against work executed by him.
The complainant lodged a written complaint with P/S VOJ stating therein that Khursheed Ahmad J.E posted in Block office Thanamandi demanded Rs 4500/- as a gratification from the complainant for releasing final payment of Govt. work executed by him. On the basis of this complaint a case under FIR NO 21/2010 was registered. The VOJ constituted a trap team and laid a trap and caught red-handed JE Kurshid Ahmed while accepting bribe Rs 4500/- and recovered the tainted bribe money from his possession. He was taken into custody for further investigation. The court granted five day police remand with the direction to produce the accused in court after expiry of remand period. JNF |
