| Avtaal to be developed as Model Village: Slathia | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 12: Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia announced Rs.9 crore model village project for the development of border village Avtaal with cluster area approach for 22 villages in Vijaypur constituency while addressing a massive public gathering at Vijaypur in Samba district,.
The Minister said that this is the first ever model village project which has been funded so generously and Rs 2 crore have already been released for the purpose.
He said that on completion of the project the model village will have facilities like Community Information Centres (CICs), concrete lanes and drains, parks, shopping complexes, family health centres etc in each of the village of this cluster which will cater to the basic needs of the people.
The Minister said that the present government has got the mandate of the people and is committed to improve basic infrastructure in every nook and corner of the state. He said that people of J&K have imposed faith in the able and dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah and Coalition Government is making all efforts to come up to the expectations of the people. He also warned the people to be aware of the divisive force which are working towards hampering the communal harmony and brotherhood which this state is proud of. He said that we can progress only if there is peace and harmony. Taking account of the present situation he said that people of all the three regions of the state will be taken into confidence while taking any decision and any solution will be according to the needs and aspirations of all the three regions.
