Harsh questions credibility of govt’s job announcements
8/15/2010 10:44:02 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 15:
Chairman Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party Harsh Dev Singh has questioned the outcome of the repeated announcements made by the government during the last more than 18 months regarding provision of jobs to the unemployed youth of state and their absorption in gainful employment.
Addressing party workers and educated youth assembled to celebrate Independence Day here. Harsh Dev Singh said that the ruling coalition had made loud exhortations – and tall pronouncements of providing one job to each family and even promised jobs to middle pass candidates at the time of elections and thereafter.
He said this was followed by the announcement of providing stipends to unemployed youth and subsequently the release of the so called “Employment policy” for the educated unemployed youth of the state.
Harsh Dev Singh that the Government never bothered to explain as to what happened to its slogan of one job for each family or to the promise of providing eligibility to middle pass candidates for seeking Government jobs. He said the most intriguing aspect of the matter was withholding of select lists during the last few months in respect of posts already advertised and processed by SSRB and PSC.
Harsh Dev Singh Pointed out that in such circumstances the recent announcement of the Chief Minister to provide jobs to 50,000 unemployed youth fails to inspire and enthuse. Ridiculing hollow claims of the Government, Singh said such pious declarations evoke cynicism rather than appreciation.
Urging upon the Government to refrain from its` polices of treachery and deceit, Harsh Dev called upon the young chief Minister not to generate false hopes in the unemployed youth.
Harsh Dev Singh further called for equitable share to all regions of the state in the matter of employment and removal of all discrimination against Jammu in maters relating to recruitment.
