2 held for stealing TMT iron bars | | | JAMMU: Two youth, allegedly involved in the theft of TMT iron bars from the godown of a railway construction company at Reasi, were today arrested by police. They were identified as Prithvi Raj Gandotra alias Billu, son of Anand Saroop of ward No 4, Reasi, and Surinder Kumar alias Pawan, son of Dina Nath of Dhanva, Reasi. Two tons of iron bars worth Rs 80,000, which they had allegedly stolen from the Ritwick railway construction company's godown at Reasi, were also recovered from their possession, police sources said. The iron bars were stolen from the company's godown at Geeta Nagar, Reasi, on August 6 last, the sources added. Sources said a Tata mobile (JK14/6280), used in the transportation of the ron bars from the godown to another place, was also seized by the police. A case was registered against the accused at the Reasi police station under relevant sections of law. |
