| 3 jawans killed, 3 hurt in road mishap | | | JAMMU: Three army jawans were killed and three others wounded critically when the vehicle in which they were travelling met with an accident near the Line of Control (LoC) at Faqir Dhara in Poonch Saturday night. The dead were identified as Pushkar Singh, Naveen Kumar and Naik Dev Nath, and the injured as Naib Sub. Kundan Singh, Lance Naik Gobind Singh and sepoy Prem Singh Gurang.
Police sources said the incident occurred at about 10.30 pm when an army vehicle, carrying six jawans from a forward post to the battalion headquarters of 8 Kumaon, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge.
The injured were evacuated to the military hospital, Poonch, where Pushkar and Naveen were declared brought dead. They hailed from Uttrakhand. Dev Nath succumbed to his injuries at about 11 am today. The condition of the other injured was stated to be stable.
A case in this connection stands registered at the concerned police station. |
