EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 16: A joint meeting of the representatives of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association of Jammu region was held at Jammu under the Chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik, Provincial President of the Association.
All the representatives in one voice urged upon the State Government to announce the roadmap of the payment of arrears of 6th Pay Commission as agreed by the Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by the Finance Minister, Abdul Rahim Rahter with the Employees leadership on May 16 last.
The members of the Association also urged upon the State Government to fulfill the long pending demand of the clerical cadre regarding the removal of pay anomalies of the clerical cadre as agreed upon by the Pay Anomalies Committee formed by the Government.
Malik said that three months time fixed by the Government for announcement of payment of arrears and removal of pay anomalies has been completed and the Prime Minister of India has also indicated during his recent visit to the state that the sufficient funds will be provided for the payment of arrears. Therefore unnecessary delay in announcement of roadmap for payment of arrears will further compound the problem. The members also requested for fulfilling the demands of the employees which includes enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
All the members of the Association also expressed deep shock and grief over the loss of human lives in the cloud burst in Ladakh and Kargil and demanded immediate relief and rescue operation for the concerned from the government.
