CJM grants bail to 13 students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Aug 20: Thirteen students who were taken into custody by Jammu Police for raising Anti-India slogans outside Jammu University gate last week were enlarged on bail today. The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Jammu granted bail to all the accused. Those who granted bail are Jannid Wani s/o Ghulam Nabi Wani r/o H. NO 13, HMT, Srinagar, Muvashar Hussain s/o Pir Hussain Uddin r/o Khiram Bijwara, Anantnag, Mohd Sahid Bhat s/o Abdul Samad Bhat r/o Chadura Budgam, Adnan Kadri s/o Ishtiq Kadri r/o Bemina Sringar, Junnaid Rashid s/o Abdul Rashid r/o Sura Srinagar, Adab Hussain s/o Farooq Ahmed r/o Niti Pura, Srinagar, Mohd Aslam s/o Adbul Majid r/o Angrooth, Rajouri, Shahnaj Amin s/o Mohd Amin r/o Handwara, Javid Ahmed Wani s/o MOhd Yousaf r/o Pougal Manayal, Muddssar Ahmed s/o Habib Ullah r/o Gani Pura, Chadura, Muddssar Ahmed Ganai s/o Mohd Maqbool Ganai r/o Avanipura Main Chowk. Mohd Rayas Skhanda s/o MOhd MShafi Skhana r/o Sangat Nagar Srinagar whereas Hussain Babbar s/o Zafar Ullah r/o Doda has not applied bail along with these 13 students but has filed bail application today. The CJM observed that the allegations against the applicant/accused are that on August 10, 2010 they assembled outside the main gate of Jammu University having planks and banners in their hands and they raised anti-national slogans and demanded “freedom of Kashmir” and they delivered provocative speeches. The perusal of the case dairy reveals that except the involvement of the applicants in the said occurrence they are not found involved in any other unlawful activity and except seized material no other illegal substance has been recovered from the possession of applicants. The students were arrested under Unlawful Activities Preventive Act and granted bail to all the 13 students with the direction to furnish bail bonds and personal bonds to the tune of Rs 25000 each with the Conditions that they shall appear before the IO as and when called with further investigation of case, they shall not influence/intimidate or win over any of the prosecution witnesses or temper with the prosecution evidence in any manners.
