| Contractors criticizes favoritism in work allotments | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 20: JK Contractors Co-ordination Committee (JKCCC) criticized the alleged interference of the politicians in the works departments particularly in PWD for allotment of construction works here today.
Addressing the media persons, general secretary JKCCC S Balvinder Singh said that the work minister G M Saroori has thrown number of Jammu based registered contractors jobless as the minister has imported his relatives and other political workers form Doda-Bhaderwah, to Jammu and help them in getting the construction works even without inviting tenders.
He further said that the government put pressures on the engineers to adjust their nearer ones as contractors through back door entry without participating in the tendering process and violating the codal formalities laid down for the execution of works
The committee urged upon the chief minister of the state to personally intervene and direct your cabinet colleagues to desist from interfering in the working of PWD otherwise the Contractors Association shall have to left with no other option except to come on the roads and stop all the works.
Prominent among other who were present on the occasion included Ravinder Nath Sharma, Joginder Singh Bitty, Kuldeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Sharma, Manmohan Singh, Vijay Kumar, and Bupinder Singh besides others. |
