| Three assaulted in husband-wife dispute | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 20: A verbal duel between a husband and wife turned into a bloody scuffle as three youth, who were trying to broker peace among the couple, assaulted by the furious husband inside the premises of Popular Academy, Nanak Nagar.
The estranged couple identified as Sanjay Damral (husband) of Sanjay Nagar and Neelam Kumari (wife) had some dispute and was living separately, said police sources Neelam along with her 4-year old daughter was putting up at her parental house at Gadigarh Sanjay few days ago visited his wife’s residence and took the girl child with the assurance that after few days he will restore back the daughter to her, but he did not send the child back to her mother, sources added Sources further said, today Neelam along with his three relatives identified as Arjun Khajuria, Nishy Khajuria and Jatinder Sharma reached Popular Academy to bring back her daughter, who was admitted there by her father.
She asked the school authorities to let her meet the child but the Principal reportedly called Sanjay, who reached the school with two other youth after some time.
After coming face to face, both husband and wife exchanged heated exchange of words and when Neelam’s relatives, who were accompanying her, made a bid to intervene they were assaulted by Sanjay in a fit of anger with a sharp edged weapon (kirch)
All the three injured were rushed to GMC hospital where their treatment was in progress.
Meanwhile, Gandhi Nagar police after registering a case arrested the accused husband Sanjay and seized weapon (kirch) of offence from his possession.
