| Drunkard cop opens fire | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Aug 20: Panic gripped the old city area of Panjtirthi when a drunkard Punjab Police constable resorted to indiscriminate firing.
However, no casualty is reported in the incident. The incident occurred in Poonch House near Radio Station in Panjtirthi when a Punjab Police cop identified as Hardeep Singh of 2nd battalion under the influence of liquor opened four rounds of fire.
He was over powered by his other colleagues deputed there. After receiving the information of the shooting incident, a police team from Pacca Danga police station reached the spot and arrested the erring policeman. Later he was shifted to GMC hospital for medical examination.
A case in this connection has been registered and the matter is being investigated further. |
