| Couple, three minor sons injured in lightning | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 20: Lightning struck a house at Pouni Chak near here early this morning, resulting in burn injuries to a man, his wife and their three minor sons.
Police sources said lightning struck the house of Tarsem Lal (45) at Pouni Chak at about 7.45 am. In the incident, Tarsem, his wife Savita Devi and their sons -- Tushar (9), Tanish (5) and 3-month-old Lucky -- sustained burns.
They were later hospitalised by locals. Sources said when the lighting struck, Savita was preparing meals for Tushar who was getting ready for school. It seemed as if the lightning first fell on the low-tension electric wire in the street and then entered their house, burning electronic gadgets and causing them burns. |
