Sales tax department today seized a truck carrying smuggled spare parts.
According to reports truck no. PB06-2873 coming from Bhatinda stopped at Lakhanpur to pay the sales tax over cement, it was carrying to Udhampur. After paying the tax it left Lakhanpur. As it was on the move D.C Sales tax R.K Verma received specific information on phone that he said truck loaded with cement was smuggling spare parts, hidden under the cement.
Immediately a team of sleuths swing into action and after a long chase stopped the truck.
During the search the party found the spare parts worth one lac fourteen thousands were hidden well under the cement. The track along with the material has been seized and the case is under investigation.
