Incident free eid-ul-fitr in State

Jammu / Srinagar,October 25:- As militants remained busy in celebrating Eid festival that state of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed an incident free celebrations on Wednesday.
The highpoint of the Eid prayers in Srinagar was the presence of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and his predecessors Mufti Mohd Sayeed and Farooq Abdullah at the Hazratbal shrine where they kneeled together and offered prayers. National Conference president Omar Abdullah was also present along with his father.
Official reports received from various corners of the state revealed that groups of militants were seen busy in merry making in the hilly belts of the state. In several camps militants slaughtered lambs and chicken to have dainty dishes during the Eid celebrations.
In in some other areas they had purchased large quantities of mutton and dressed chicken from the village markets. They enjoyed these dishes after offering Id Nimaz in the open grounds.
In areas inhabited by civilians militants appeared in various mosques and offered prayers.Most of them carried small weapons to escape detection by the security forces that had been deployed in strength around all shrines and mosques in the state.
It was for the first time groups of people expressed their thankgiving to militants as they(people) were able to indulge in revelry without any inconvenience caused to them by militants.
The Eid festival was celebrated with fervour in the state with people offering Nimaz in various mosques and shrines.After the last three days witnessed an unprecedented shopping spree people,especially children and women,in various parts of the state appeared in mosques with new garments on.
Groups of Hindus in the Kashmir valley visited their neighbours and friends and wished them Id greetings. Large gatherings were reported in all districts and tehsil towns, including Pulwama, Kupwara, Shopian, Bandipora, Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam,Tangmarg, Sopore, Chrar-e-Sharie, Kangan, Ganderbal and Kulgam.In Jammu, the main prayer was held at Idgah on Residency road followed by similar gathering in Jama Masjid in Talab Khatiqan, and Kacchi Chowni,Gujjar Nagar,Bhatindi,Malik Market and Jullaka Mohalla areas.
