Chamber deputation calls on Commissioner JMC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Aug 23: A deputation of various trade organizations led by Secretary General Chamber of Commerce and Industry Satish Gupta called on the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) S M Sawhney. The deputation lodged its strong protest against the high headedness and callous attitude of health and sanitation wing of Jammu Municipal Corporation who are putting hurdles in free flow of trade besides harassing the traders. Satish Gupta brought into the notice of Commissioner that of late health and sanitation officers of Jammu Municipal Corporation are demanding licenses issued by the health authorities for carrying goods on their load carriers which is very illogical, since the load carriers neither sell nor store the goods. Commissioner was further apprised that this wing of JMC is harassing and targeting certain traders and are lifting samples from their premises only. Chamber condemns this targeting of traders and demands lifting of samples at random from across length and breadth of Jammu city so that this menace of adulteration which is eating society like termite can be checked. Commissioner fully agreed with the points raised by the deputation and assured of necessary action at the earliest. Prominent among those who accompanied the delegation include Tara Chand Gupta, Sr. Vice President CCI, Deepak Aggarwal, Treasurer CCI, Vinod Malhotra Sr. Executive Member and others.
