| JK high Court recognizes degrees of PTU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | JULY 26 The students of Punjab Technical university (PTU) enrolled various technical courses over the past one year had an relief when the J&K High Court recognized the degrees offered by the PTU. According to press release of PTU, the students under going various technical courses under PTU, over the post one year had fear and anxiety in their minds as the universities of Jammu and Kashmir through notices had informed the general public at large that degrees obtained through distance education would not be recognized by these universities. Justice, Nirmal Singh of J&K Court in this judgment stayed the operation of the public notices from both the universities. The case which was filed by PTU students was pleaded by advocates, Amit Jhanjc, Vivek Sharma, Pranav Kohli and Vishal Sharma. After hearing the case councils the Justice, Nirmal Singh gave relief to the PTU students with the remarks that the petitioners are at library to take admission in any of these universities beside can seek employment. According to Dean, Distance Education Dr. R.P.Singh has clarified that PTU is a unb9versity established through the state legislative Act of Punjab in 1996 and has been offering distance education across the country. Regional Co- coordinator of the university M. Dewan, has said that with the relief thousands of students who have passed from PTU shall be eligible for higher education in the universities of Jammu & Kashmir and without any buiderence can be considered for employment.
