JSM demands security for oil tanker drivers | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 26: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has criticized failure of Jammu and Kashmir government for its failure to provide adequate security to tankers carrying essential commodities to Kashmir and Ladakh at great risk to their lives. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that state government has failed to provide even the basic protection to drivers and their tankers. JSM has added that state government has totally failed to protect lives and property of the common man. They demanded state government should be dismissed immediately. JSM expressed complete solidarity with petrol tankers who have suspended all their operations to protest ill-treatment being meted out to their drivers by various people in the Kashmir Valley. JSM demanded that there should be an armed escort alongwith these tankers which would ensure that there are no such incidences in the future. JSM also appealed tankers association not to stop supplies to Jammu and Ladakh regions as the general public in these parts of the state will suffer un-necessarily due to no fault of theirs. Meeting was chaired by H. B. Khajuria, Sr. Vice President and attended by Capt. Anil Gour, Dig Vijay Singh, Chandra Uday Sharma, Virender Magotra, Divender Singh Jamwal, Balvinder Singh; Surjeet Singh and Mukesh Raina & others.
