| Shastri urges 6th pay commission to recommend interim relief | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

Subash Shastri, President National Mazdoor Conference has urged upon the chairman of the 6th pay commission immediately recommend interim relief in favour of the employees at the uniform rate of Rs. 1000/- per month with effect from January 2006.
In a memorandum sent to chairman of 6th pay commission today Sahstri said that provision of interim relief is essential to neutralize the affect of price rise in the salaried class.
The NMc chief said that the commission should finalize its report at the earliest so that the pay revision is affected from Janaury 2006 the date from which it is due. He said while finalizing its recommendations, the commission should visit all the state’ s and Union Territories to ascertain the views of employees association on the entire amount of pay hike and allied matters so that the concept of equal pay for equal work and uniform pay structure across the country is implemented in letter and spirit.
