GCET arranges essay competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu August 28: The NSS Unit of GCET under the supervision of Programme officer, Rajiv Bali, today organised an essay competition for the students on ‘Role of Youth and Millennium Development Goals, Challenges and Opportunities’ at the college campus, Chak Balwal, here. Around 40 volunteers of NSS took part in the essay competition and out of which Abhinav Verma, Mehak Mahajan, Avneet Kour, Pankaj and Tarun Bali were selected as best writers. Winners stressed on the areas like to Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger, to Achieve Universal Primary Education, to Promote Gender Equality and Empower Women, to Reduce Child Mortality, to Improve Maternal Health, to Combat HIV AIDS, Malaria and other diseases, to Ensure Environmental Sustainability, to Develop A Global Partnership For Development and India’s Adaptation of MGDs. Dr Veena Rani, Dr Dina Nath, Manoj Gupta were the judges of the programme, wherein lecturers and other faculty staff were also present on the occasion. Principal GCET, Bhopinder Singh congratulated NSS Unit for organising such programme.
