Raju Chopra, a cement tycoon of Jammu city who was brutally murdered along with his wife, daughter and two servants, was expecting bid on his life as he got held “Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap” prior to his murder for evading danger on life. Chopra’s horoscope had clearly indicated danger to his life and a popular “Pandit” of Trikuta Nagar had carried the Jaap for Chopra but unfortunately the mantra didn’t work for him.
The Police, for getting lead into the blind murder interrogated the said Pandit and during his interrogation, he confirmed that Chopra was under the constant fear of losing his life and also speculated attack on life within 15 days of the Jaap. Even his sons confirmed that their father had sensed the danger to his life. It is also been considered that Chopra probably contacted Ranjit Singh alias Neeta, a top militant of Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) presently operating from PoK, to secure his protection from his business rivals.
According to the reports, Chopra had secured his protection through Neeta in lieu of the partnership deal with Neeta’s friend, who resides in Simbal camp and is a history-sheeter, in his business of loading-unloading at Railway Station only few days prior to his murder. The profit in this business on average runs into Rs.25, 000 a day. But, even this deal failed to protect him and his family from murderers. Keeping in view, all these facts police carrying out the investigation into the whole episode and interrogated all the business partners of Chopra, which led some more disclosures.
Chopra had half-a-dozen business partners, out of which Chopra cleared the partnership amount and dismissed one of the partners from business. According to reliable sources, it has come out during interrogation that a close relative of one of the partners is a known criminal in Rajasthan and is stated to be wanted in many murder cases. Even, police interrogation has revealed that intense rivalry was going on between all the partners and ex-partners of Raju Chopra, which includes prominent contractors (Majority of whom were yesteryears Don), brother of a legislator and son of an influential state ruling party leader.
According to confirmed reports, the above-mentioned legislator had organized a meeting of all the partners (because his brother was also the party in the dispute) and even reportedly managed patch up between all the partners after hours of negotiations. But, despite of that Raju Chopra along with his daughter-wife and two servants was brutally murdered at his residence.
