NC misleading Centre about ground situation of Kashmir: PDP
8/30/2010 9:17:28 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Aug 30: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today flayed the National Conference for keeping the Central government in dark regarding prevailing situation in the State.
Addressing a public meeting of party workers at Rajouri this afternoon, PDP district president and MLA Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar said that instead of giving correct information to the Central government about the prevailing situation, the National Conference has trying to mislead the government by presenting wrong picture.
Stressing on the need evolving political solution of the Kashmir problem, Choudhary Zulfikar said that oppressive measures being adopted by the government would not yield any result and such steps would be proved counter productive. He asked the government to present a human face instead of using brutal force.
PDP leader demanded that a time frame inquiry must be conducted to probe recent killings of teenagers in the Kashmir to restore confidence of the people. He further demanded that all political prisoners should be immediately released. Furthermore PDP leader also demanded that there was need to take more Confidence Building Measures
(CBMs) to restore peace.
He said that instead of properly projecting aspirations and wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, successive NC governments in the State have brazenly bartered interests of people for the lust of power. “Since 1947 NC leadership has been compromising with wishes of the people and changing its stance from the time to time for power”, he said and added that NC has lost credibility in the State.
