Plantation drive at Kathua held | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Aug 30: An intensive drive launched to plant near about 200 saplings of different kinds including teak wood, Neem, Bhera, Arad, and Amla was held at Kathua. The occasion was marked with colorful cultural programme and symposium that was held on the topic of the environment, inaugurated by the DC kathua Sanjeev Verma by planting a sapling to pursue the further activity of the plantation drive in Sidhivinyak Institute of Paramedical courses. The director of Environment and science VK Raina appreciated the initiative for launching the plantation drive by the paramedical Institute in respect to give the priority and honour to the pollution free environment by growing more and more plants in the surrounding. The students of the institute threw light on the need of the plants and said that the environment is the basic and fundamental factor of the survival of the planet but it is regretted that this planet is on the verge of extinction due to the mixing of abundant and intolerable quantity of poisonous contents which has taken the entire nature in its dangerous and brutal hands and leading the whole world on the peak of extinction. The chairman of the institute Prabha Shankar said that the first echo club of the district Kathua is framed in this paramedical institute and also expressed his deep and serious concerns over the degradation of the environment due to the fast and continue cuttings of the trees which provide the oxygen to survive the human kind and consumes the carbon dioxide so the composition balance is totally disturbed which why it becomes the prime motive of every individual to come forward to grow more and more plants to save the planet. On the occasion the Tehsildar headquarter Jatinder Mishra, DFO kathua and other staff members were present.
