| GDC Akhnoor lacks facilities: NSF | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, AUG 30: National Secular Forum (NSF) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Vikas Sharma its State President and discussed the problems being faced by the students.
Vikas said that there are lot of problems that are being faced by the students of Akhnoor colleges and the adjoining schools.
He criticized the Higher Education Department for its alleged failure to provide adequate infrastructure in Government Degree College (GDC), Akhnoor.
“Toilets in the college have been locked by the authorities, reason best known to them,” he said, adding the studies of the students are suffering due to shortage of teaching staff.
Sharma alleged that the students in the college have been facing acute shortage of water due to non-availability of water cooler.
He said that there is only provision for girl students to take part in National Cadet Corps (NCC) wing, besides the students from far-off places have been facing problems due to non-availability of proper transport facility. Sharma also took the matter with the Director Colleges who assured him for early redressal of students’ grievances.
