| Civil Defence organises awareness camp in Bhaderwah | | | Early Times Report BHADERWAH, Aug 31: Civil Defense (CD) Bhaderwah unit today organized an awareness camp-cum-debate at Sari Bazaar of Bhaderwah to apprise local people about the diarrhea epidemic. Awareness camp-cum-debate was organized by Deputy Chief Civil Defense Bhaderwah Bashir Ahmed Wani whereas Masth Nath Yogi JDS state acting President was Chief Guest. Adv Abdul Rouf Ganai was guest of honor and Abdul Hafeez Butt was special guest. In the camp cum debate which was organized on the direction of DDC Doda Farooq Ahmed Khan, speakers urged people to use boiled water and refrain from eating rotten vegetables or fruits . Speakers urged PHE authorities of Doda Bhaderwah to check leakage of pipes and ensure proper and regular cleaning of all the reservoirs and filtration plants in the district. Speakers further claimed that in Bhaderwah there are three filter plants of PHE but all are non-functional due to negligence of concerned authorities. It is pertinent to mention here that six people have so far died and 1200 have been taken ill in Doda district due to diarrhea. Master Ghansham Singh, Mohd Amin Mir, Om Kar Kotwal, Abhay Wazir, Abdul Kabir Malik and other social activists of the town also spoke on the occasion.
