Jammu, Aug 31: The NCc directorate of J&K bid farewell to Brig Anil Gupta, Deputy Director General NCC on his superannuation here today Brig Gupta, an alumnus of NDA, Khadskwasla, was commissioned into the Madress Regt in June 1974. A graduate of Defence Services Staff College. Wellington the officer has done all important courses and excelled in them. The for is also accredited with higher qualification, an M.Phil degree in Defence and strategic studies from the Madras University. Cheeni as well as a Diploma in Management. The offer has sarved in varied staff and comd appts during his Army Career of 36 years. He surved as Dy Director General NCC J&K Directorate for a short stint of 11/2 years of Mar 2009. This association of Brig Gutpa with NCc Directorate J&K has left an in deli able mark his devotion, unstinted and untining efforts have made a difference which are worth amulating. The directorate has undergone marked improvement under him in spite of being in a troubled state. He ensured that the NCc is visible and reached every nook and corner of the state. He motivated the youth personally during format/ informal interactions to join NCC. It was only under his command that J&K Directorate stood overall 9th in Republic Day Parade 2010 at Delhi. During his tenure, the NCC cadets took part in a big way in various social service and community and development programme. The service of the Directorate were recognized by Global family and Red cross society of India by awarding special prizes. Brigadier Anil Gupta also encouraged the cadets to participate in shooting competitions held at state and National levels. Brigadier Gupta handed over the reigns of NCC Directorate J&K to brigadier Thomas George, a career officer who till recently was the commandant of officer Training Academy Gwalior. A very warm and affectionate send off was given to the out going DDG by the staff and employee of NCC at Rashid Villa, headquarters of NCC Director J&K.
