Jat Kalyan yatra reach winter capital

Jammu Aug 31: The Jat Kalyan Sabha in coordination with all India Jat Arakshan Sangharsh Samiti and renowned personalities of various community comprising of Hindu, Muslims, and Sikhs reached Jammu in the form of RATH YATRA which started from Golden Temple Amritsar on 29th Aug, 2010. the Samiti President Ch.Yash Pal Malik addressed the rally of JAT community members at Mahasha Sadar Sabha and apprised the gathering about the plight of the community at the hand of the successive govt. in the various states of country, where the JATs are living in miserable condition and that too near the Indo-Pak border. He pointed out that when Jats have been granted the status of OBC along with Labana in the states of U.P, M.P, H.P, Gujarat, Utrakhand and Delhi why they have been excluded form the list of J&K. As per press release Yash paul Malik said that all jats of Inida have threatended to disrupt the common wealth games to be held in October this year, if the Govt. does not grant them OBC status and said it is not out place to mention here that Jat Kalyan Sabha, J&K is pursuing the case for OBC status with the Govt. of J&K for last more than 15 years. The Sabha had applied before the SEBC commission in 2004 for the grant of OBC status. In response to that the commission had written to the D.C and Tehsil for the survey of the community. Consequently the survey of the population regarding population, social status, education standard, participation in govt. jobs was done by the concerned revenue authorities and after getting duly attested by the concerned authorities, the report was submitted to the commission in October 2005. while addressing the gathering Ch.Dewan Singh, President JAT Kalyan Sabha, J&K threatened that if the Govt. fails to grant the status, we would go on agitation path and not hesitate to block the vital and gherav the secretariat. Ch.Yash Pal Malik and other prominent leaders who addressed the gathering are Sh.Hawa Singh Sangwan, Rann Singh Showkeen, Manoj Doon, Arvind Pawar, Sarpanch Rajinder Goyat, Sardar Jagir Singh, Chandu Singh Sandhu, Sardar Gurdev Singh and Dr.Sayeed Mohd. Azam and may others.
