| Iftar party for communal brotherhood at Poonch | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Aug 31: In connection with the ongoing holy month of Ramzan and to express solidarity with Muslim brethren, Hindu and Sikh communities organized an impressive Iftar Party at Dak Bungalow here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Imam Central Jamia Masjid Poonch, Moulana Farooqi appreciated the move of the organizers for providing members of cross section of the society an opportunity to exchange their views and to discuss their common problems.
Underscoring the need for strengthening bounds of mutual brotherhood among various communities, Yashpal Sharma and other speakers expressed their solidarity with Muslim fraternity and pledged to work for welfare, prosperity and all round development of the people.
They appreciated the spirit of Muslim community for extending cooperation in successful conduct of recent Budha Amarnath Yatra and Raksha Bandhan festival in Poonch. District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kuldip Lal Khajuria appreciated all communities for maintaining peace and communal harmony, despite volatile situations and worked for all round development and progress of the district. He assured participants to resolve their problems on priority and work for their welfare.
SSP, Manmohan Singh, ADC Mohammad Matloob Khan, President, Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, Manjeet kumar Sharma, prominent personalities of all communities and district officers among others participated in the function.
