| Naz neglecting community, alleges ST-SC Federation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 31: All J&K ST/SC Students’ Federation has condemned the attitude of Vice Chairman Gujjar-Bakerwal Advisory Board Bashir Ahmed Naz for his alleged negligence, carelessness and non-seriousness towards the community.
Addressing media persons here today, state president All J&K ST/SC Students’ Federation Haq Nawaz Choudhary said discrimination is made with the community in every sphere of life, but despite bringing everything in the knowledge of Vice Chairman, nothing has been done till date.
He alleged that SC/ST students studying in Jammu belonging to socially and economically weaker sections of society are moving here and there in Jammu for the search of rooms on rent because there is no hostel facility for them.
Even several students had left the University because of non-availability of hostel facility to them, he added.
Choudhary also lambasted on Tribal Affair Department for non-disbursement of scholarship among students till date though it should have been dispersed in February-March.He lamented besides giving assurance by Bashir Ahmed Naz, no progress has been made till date.
Federation demanded that in order to provide safeguard to the community, a private building be taken on rent, for hostel facility to accommodate at least 100-200 students so that students did not suffer and be accommodated properly.
The leaders warned that in case hostel facility is not provided to SC/ST students, the federation would gherao the residence of Vice Chairman Gujjar-Backerwal Advisory Board on October 1.
