Troops recovered IED | | | RAJOURI: Alert army troops, guarding the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district today foiled militants' attempt of an apparent sabotage after they found Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on a track during routine patrolling. Defense sources said "IED was planted either by the militants or by the agents of Pakistan intelligence agency ISI to target the Indian soldiers engaged for the security of the cobra fence on LoC." Had the IED exploded there would have been loss of precious lives", added sources At about 10 am today the patrol party of Madras Regiment noticed the IED planted on the road side near FDL Kangra facing New Bunker post of the Pakistan army and immediately cordoned the area . The matter was brought to the notice of senior officers and accordingly bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot which defused the IED after hectic efforts. It is pertinent to mention that for the last few months ISI agents and militant outfits are desperately trying to push trained militants into Indian territory from Mendhar , Poonch and Mandi sectors but their attempts have been foiled by the alert Indian soldiers. Army sources have claimed that the training camps under new names and at different locations are still intact and more than 300 trained militants camping at various launching pads, most of them foreigners, waiting for their turn to enter the Indian territory. |
