| Chairman JK Bank govt ignoring claims of Jammuities, Ladakhes: Harshdev | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sep 1: MLA Harsh Dev Singh working chairman National Panther Party (NPP) strongly flayed the state government for ignoring the claims of Jammu region in the matter of proposed appointments for the post of Chairman of J&K Bank and for recommending all the three names in the panel from the valley for the coveted post. He said that the panel of names recommended by the state government which includes one retired executive director Mushtaq Ahmed and two in-service bureaucrats, who are hardly having any banking experience, is highly arbitrary, irrational and opposed to banking norms. He said the decision of the state government is highly discriminatory and indicative of biased mind set of alliance partners. Singh pointed out that the state government has always been giving preference to Kashmir valley in the matter of appointment of chairman for this most prestigious banking institute of the state. He said never has a Jammunite or a Ladakhi been appointed as chairman since the establishment of J&K Bank. Clarifying further, he pointed out that the senior most in-service officers of the J&k bank belonging to Jammu region have been deliberately ignored and wrongfully deprived with ulterior motives by the government. He said the in-service executive director belonging to Jammu region has been ignored by the government while recommending the name of a retired executive director from Kashmir, he said like wise the senior president of the J&K Bank has also been ignored and not recommended in the panel only because he tool hailed form Jammu region. Castigating the government for it prejudice against Jammu region and its double standards, Singh urged upon the state government to review its decision and to re-cast the panel duly accommodating the aspirations of people of Jammu region. He further urged upon Reserve Bank of India to take cognizance of the irregular and anomalous nature of panel and not to accept the same in view of apparent vested interest of the rulers.
