| Bhim dares Geelani for public debate on Kashmir | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 1: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman Prof Bhim Singh has invited separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani to join in an open public debate on the issues which Geelani has been advocating through the media in Srinagar. The Panthers Party Chief offered to share a common platform with Ali Shah Geelani at any place, any Tehsil or District Headquarter anywhere in J&K or even at a place which he considers as his den. "Let Syed Ali Shah Geelani join an open debate with me on the issues of ‘Accession’, State-Centre relations, State’s composite culture, UN Resolutions and on the so-called ‘dispute’. And I assure Geelani Sahib that I shall take no security cover with me except couple of my party colleagues from the Valley to look after my transportation only" Bhim Singh in a letter addressed to Geelani said, "We have been colleagues in the Legislative Assembly in J&K and shared Assembly seats when Sheikh Mohmmad Abdullah was Chief Minister from 1977 to 1982.” The people of our state shall get an opportunity to hear both view points from the same platform and it shall be easy for them to choose roadmap for their future. I had given similar invitation to you when I met you in your special prison at Chashmashahi in Srinagar a month back. Sharing a platform by us shall provide an opportunity to our brethren in Jammu and Kashmir to understand both the schools of thought; yours and mine. Let the people decide and their decision we agree to follow. After this public debate any school which is approved by the people shall have to be accepted by both of us. This is a beautiful way to settle the issues for good and ensure that people of all the regions live in peace, communal harmony and get an opportunity to participate in the March of 21stcentury for development and peace".
