| BJYM holds protest against autonomy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sep 1: BJYM Akhnoor district unit today held a protest demonstration at Nagrota and burnt the copies of the Autonomy report released by the National Conference.
The protest demonstration was led by BJYM Akhnoor district president Manmohan Singh Manhas.
BJYM State President Munish Sharma, who also participated in the protest demonstration, said that autonomy is nothing but capitulation to exclusivist Islamic fundamentalism. He said it makes no sense that more than 12 crore Muslims are living happily in India as equal citizens of the country and J&K which is only Muslim majority should remain distant and cut off from the secularist mainstream of the country.
He further added that in this age of globalization the entire world is considered as one village and the demand for autonomy and the resultant exclusion from the rest of the country is not only retrograde but against the interest of the poor and struggling masses of the state. He said that BJP stands for total integration of the state of J&K with secularist Indian mainstream and will never allow NC to succeed in their evil designs of taking the state back through autonomy.
