| Hurriyat exploiting common masses : Smriti Irani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 1: Denouncing Hurriyat Conference (Geelani), Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani for setting up of conditions for reviewing ongoing agitation, BJP Mahila Morcha national president Smriti Irani said the preconditions, which the separatist leader has set to restore peace and ending stone pelting, itself indicates that who is exploiting the common masses. “Geelani remained Member of J&K Legislative Assembly for four terms and if he had the separatist agenda than why he took oath under Indian constitution during his stay in the Assembly”, Smriti questioned and made a fervent appeal to the youth not to indulge in stone pelting and not to fall pray at the hands of separatists as they, Irani alleged, have only motive to exploit them on deaths for their “personal gaining”. Castigating the policies of ruling National Conference-Congress alliance vis-à-vis dealing with Kashmir situation, BJP Mahila Morcha national president Smriti Irani on Wednesday questioned the credibility of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, saying “it seems separatists are running parallel government in J&K.” Smriti Irani, who reached Jammu this morning to take part in the ‘MahilaKaryakarta Sammelan, said, “The Chief Minister must answer who is running the administration in Jammu and Kashmir, whether it is Geelani or he who had got more than 60 per cent votes in 2008 elections.” She maintained, “I think Democracy is still alive in the state and people are seeking an answer from the Chief Minister over the present unrest in Kashmir as they want to know who are running the state affairs. The whole nation is confused about the prevailing circumstances where separatists are dictating their terms.” She also held the Congress equally responsible for present unrest in Kashmir saying “The Party is intentionally boiling the Kashmir issue.” “The Congress has failed in entire nation as it has divided the nation in the name of religion, bargained for power. It is only haplessly watching present mess in Kashmir like a mute spectator,” Irani charged.
