EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Sep 1: The first ever dengue case has been reported in Rajouri with doctors confirming that a female government school teacher has tested positive for it. Neena Bakshi, a school teacher, of Bagnoti in Noushera here, was confirmed positive by the doctors at ASCOMS hospital, Jammu, Tuseday. She was then referred to the government medical college hospital for specialised treatment. Family sources said that the ASCOMS doctors, after rapid test, found the symptoms of dengue in the patient. Meanwhile, on the directions of chief medical officer, Rajouri, and under the guidance of BMO, Nowshera, a 4-member medical team, headed by Dr Amit Saini, rushed to Bagnoti. "We have examined more than 105 persons, including students of primary school, Bagnoti, where Neena was posted but no symptoms for dengue, or for any other disease were found. A report in this connection has been sent to CMO and other higher authorities in Jammu," said Dr S Singh, officiating BMO, Nowshera .About 10 days ago, Neena, a physical education teacher developed symptoms of high fever, severe headache and pain in muscles and joints. Her son Sachin said she treated privately at Nowshera before they shifted her to Jammu. |
