Kissan Movement demands compensation for farmers

KATHUA, Sept 2: Kisaan Movement has urged the government to compensate the flood affected farmers whose entire crops including Maize, Paddy, Pulses and others have been damaged and the loss of fertile soil which eroded due to heavy rainfall.
Addressing a press conference here today, the convener of the Kisaan Movement Hurmat Singh demanded inclusion of flood control sector in district plan besides expediting the modernization and reconstruction of the Rawi Tawi irrigation canal and to regularize all the 3000 Rehbar-e-Ziraat agriculture technocrats as permanent to boost and develop the agriculture sector in the state .
