| Rajouri Poonch Muslims crown Zahur as MCC President, appeal to remove tainted leaders | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sep 5: Muslims from twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch have endorsed the presidentship of Prof Zahur-ud-Din as the provincial president of Muslim Coordination Committee (MCC).
In this connection they condemned the efforts of some self styled leaders who, are hell bent upon to divide them on caste and region lines.
A meeting held at Rajouri under the chairman ship of Qayoom Dar, district president MCC and they criticized the efforts of Abdul Gani Kohli who, according to them, creating misunderstanding among the Muslims over the presidentship on Prof. Zahur.
Passing resolution here in the meeting of District Muslim Coordination Committee Rajouri, Abdul Qayoom Dar, District President has said that Prof. Zahur-ud-Din is the actual President of MCC and some political leaders like Abdul Gani Kohli are trying to create misunderstanding among the Muslims about the president ship of Prof . Zahur.
"He is a well educated and do understand the problems of Muslims facing in these districts. He is competent to solve over problems" said Dar.
Vice President of Parental Body of MCC Prof. AR Magrey was also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile all Imams of Rajouri have also endorsed Prof-Zahur as President of MCC.
In a meeting of a religious body- Alhuda Educational Trust (AET), Choudhary Ameer Mohammad Shamsi, Chairman of the Trust said that they have also passed a resolution appealing MCC President Prof Zahur-ud-Din to strike off the names of some planted leaders from MCC who have been sent in the MCC to create wedge.
Shamsi said that Muslims of Jammu are united and the MCC has been framed to look after the interests of the community.
“We have framed this body to safeguard of the interest of the Muslim community and it will continue to serve the community”, Shamsi added.
In his statement, Muslim Youth Federation President Shafqat Wani has backed Prof. Zahur and said that some communal minded people want to divide Muslims on caste lines and before creating any trouble among the Muslims, these politically motivated people should be kicked out from the MCC.
Shia Federation Poonch, Muslim Welfare Association Poonch and Muslim Federation Poonch and Mendher have also shown full faith on Prof. Zahur-ud-Din and they have appealed him to go ahead in his endeavours to do the good work.
