New entrants welcomed into MIER’s 2nd batch of M. Ed

Jammu, Sep 6: Welcoming the new batch into the 2nd batch of M. Ed, P G Department of MIER College of Education organized a reception function that was attended by students and their teachers.
Arun K. Gupta, chairman, MIER was the chief guest, on this occasion and Renu Gupta, Principal and Director of the College was the Guest of honour.
The inauguration of the session was done by lighting of the sacred lamp.
This was followed by an informal introduction by the second batch of M Ed. students and staff of the college which included Prof. B. L. Raina , D.R Kapoor, Adit Gupta, Ira Bhan and Shivali Sharma.
Welcoming the chief guest and the new students, Prof. B. L. Raina, HOD PG Department, in his address, thanked the students for showing faith in MIER, by getting admitted to this pioneering institute. He exhorted the new students to fulfill their academic curiosity by participative learning and sharing of ideas.
Renu Gupta, while sharing her experiences with the students, said that by taking admission in this learning hub, they have now entered into a never ending quality process.
“Students must take advantage of the faculty and other resources available within the institute and full fill their dreams by qualifying with distinction,” said Renu Gupta.
The chairman Arun K. Gupta while addressing the faculty members and the new students said that higher education is a cooperative endeavor where students and teachers have to contribute together. He further explained that learning process is to be considered as the exercise of participation through questioning and sharing with one another at this level of education.
“Therefore, one must put queries while interacting so that one is able to understand the concepts for better learning,” he said while guiding them to utilize the resources available in the college like the ICT infrastructure, rich library resources in term of books and online journals and periodicals, educational technology facilities and the psychological laboratory to achieve their objectives while undergoing this course.
Ira Bhan, senior lecturer, presented vote of thanks in the end.
