PK, KS hold protest against granting of Autonomy to JK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sep 6: Panun Kashmir (PK) and Kashmiri Samaj (KS) Hyderabad today organized a protest at Indira Park, Hyderabad as a part of a series of international protests organized by Panun Kashmir that started on 18th August at Jammu and will culminate on 14th September, which is observed by the Kashmiri Pandit community as Martyrs Day to commemorate the killing of Tika Lal Taploo at the hands of terrorists in 1989. “Government is treading a dangerous terrain by allowing the separatists to run amok in the valley. There has been no action against clear acts of treason by the self-styled separatist leaders. There has been no action against notorious terrorists like Bitta Karate and Yasin Malik. This only encourages them to spit more venom and sway more and more people towards their absurd line of thinking”, said Samir Durani, executive member of Kashmiri Samaj Hyderabad. Joining in with his views, S.J Dhar said “When we see the killers of our fellow community folks roaming around as VIPs in the valley and rest of India, we really feel that we belong to nowhere. Who cares that we have been living as refugees in our own country for 21 years now! If we don’t throw stones, if we don’t spray bullets, will no one listen to us?” The gathering out rightly rejected the Prime Minister’s consideration of providing Autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. B.B Dhar, General Secretary, Kashmiri Samaj Hyderabad, unequivocally stated that any such step will be the beginning of the end of Indian nation. “Granting autonomy to J&K will start its alienation from India. Soon more states would follow the example. It will have disastrous consequences for India. We just can’t afford any more partitions.” Shail Razdan, representing Panun Kashmir, stressed on the fact the peaceful communities like Kashmiri Pandits are always ignored. “Why does nobody care about a whole community being ethnically cleansed from their aboriginal home? We have a 5000 year old history in the Valley, and we absolutely want our homeland there. Kashmiri Pandits along with Dogras, Laddakhis, Gujjars, Bakkarwals, etc have complete rights to the State of J&K. Separatists cannot claim to be the representatives of the people of J&K. They at best represent only the violence freaks of the Valley.” The protest was also joined by few dignitaries from the Andhra Pradesh BJP unit, including the State President G Krishan Reddy and State General Secretary Advocate N Ramachander Rao. Krishan Reddy assured the Kashmiri Pandits of complete support from BJP. He criticized the Government consideration of granting Autonomy to Kashmir. Ramachander Rao said “When we have some pain in our body, we treat it, we do not cut it out. Kashmir is our head, we won’t allow it to be ever cut away from us”. The protestors also submitted a memorandum to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. They conveyed their message through the memorandum and lodged a strong protest against granting of Autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir, modifying and diluting Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), withdrawal of Security Forces from the Valley, ignoring Kashmiri Pandits’ demand for Homeland, ignoring the geo-political urges and aspirations of people of Jammu and Laddakh and holding of anti-India and pro-Azadi demonstrations by Kashmiri Muslim Separatists at Delhi, Pune, and Jammu.
