Ware House traders call off protest

The traders of Ware House today called off their on going protest against the police action which was taken during Jammu Municipality’s anti-encroachment drive on last Tuesday.
According to sources in a meeting held between traders and commissioner JMC, Vinod Kumar, the demand of traders for grant of half land on pavements was accepted by the commissioner. It was a unanimous decision taken by the commissioner JMC, police and shopkeepers that a yellow line will be drawn on the pavements will be used by shopkeepers for placing their material and other half portion would be used by the pedestrians for movement.
While speaking to Early Times, Joint Commissioner Municipality, said that traders also demanded drainage system, proper lighting system and dispensary they also demanded repair of the roads at Ware House. He Also assured that deptt. will look into their demands on priority basis.
